Iwami province is situated on the west coast of Chubu. Although its annual rice yield is poor, it has significant mineral wealth and was a rich source of silver during the Sengoku Jidai. The province was also the site of many battles as Mori and Ouchi forces frequently clashed with the Amako of Izumo and their allies and retainers.
